About the Journal

Al-Zahrawi Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences (ZJHSS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Al-Zahrawi University, Karbala, Iraq. The journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality Original Research Articles and Review Articles that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and scholarly research across a wide range of humanities and social sciences. The journal focuses on the following core disciplines: 

  • Education, Educational Technology and Learning Sciences: improving education through innovative teaching methods, digital technologies, AI applications, curriculum development, and effective learning strategies.
  • History, Geography & Archaeology: Historical and heritage studies, human and physical geography, and archaeology.
  • Law, Political Science, Economics & Administrative Sciences: Public and private law, political science and international relations, economics, finance, business administration, and accounting.
  • Sociology, Psychology, Media, Philosophy & Educational Sciences: Sociology and social work, psychology and counseling, educational sciences and curricula, media and mass communication, and philosophy.

All manuscripts are published in English and undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts to ensure scholarly originality, methodological rigor, and adherence to the highest standards of publication ethics (COPE).

Al-Zahrawi Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences seeks to enrich the Arabic library with studies that clarify the concept of humanity and examine human social interactions with their environment through language, history, culture, literature, heritage, and other social sciences studies. This aims to produce a conscious, aware Arab human being who understands what is happening around them, grounded in sound, ideal human and social structures. The journal also aims to guide researchers toward human ideas, topics, and problems that need study.
